Hong Kong continues to elevate its status as Asia’s premier hospitality hub, underpinned by its world-class hotels, flourishing MICE sector and sustained growth in tourism. The launch of the government’s Development Blueprint for Hong Kong’s Tourism Industry 2.0 is accelerating industry transformation through smart tourism initiatives and elevated service standards, fueling rising demand for skilled hospitality professionals.
Our programme response to industry needs, equipping participants for careers in hotel operations across front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage departments. Through an integrated curriculum, students gain a thorough understanding of departmental structures and holistic hotel operations, while acquiring the professional skills, industry insights, and service mindset essential for success in the hospitality sector.

Study Arrangement
The first to second year: |
Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. For the first and second years, the employer will sponsor the apprentice to study the Diploma (Dip) programme at HTI for one day and one evening per week |
The third year: |
Full time on the job training |
Allowance & Salary*
During the training period, participants will receive a total of $30,800 Industry Incentive Allowance, government allowance under the Earn & Learn Scheme (up to $90,000) and Training Allowance (up to $36,000). Given a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $9,470. |

The Industry Incentive Allowance will be disbursed in stages during the first to third year of training | A total of $30,800 |
* Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries.
& For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, they are entitled to the Monthly Apprenticeship Training Allowance of $1,000 per month during the apprenticeship, for a maximum of 36 months.
Tuition Fees
- Employers will sponsor the tuition fees.
Entry Requirement
- Completion of Secondary 6 (under the New Senior Secondary academic structure); OR
- Completion of Secondary 5 with a pass in the HTI / CCI / ICI bridging course; OR
- Completion of 2-year Certificate Programme offered by HTI / CCI / ICI; OR
- Equivalent and;
- 18 years old or above.
